August Updates from PRIDE+
- The ERUUF PRIDE+ group is carrying out the financial arrangements to obtain the Transgender Inclusion in Congregations online program (from the Eno River Foundation grant). It should be available soon and the leadership team will start to review it. We updated the Foundation with contingency planning in light of social distancing for the portions that will be led by Rev. Mykal Slack—these will likely become online sessions as well.
UU the Vote Opportunities for Action
UU the Vote has several upcoming opportunities for action.
1. Writing Postcards to NC Voters with Reclaim Our Vote
Last month, UUs across the state wrote nearly 8,000 postcards to voters who had been purged from the voter rolls. We are excited to announce the second round of postcard writing in partnership with Reclaim Our Vote and the North Carolina NAACP. If you'd like to participate in writing postcards to North Carolina voters, please contact Emily Cox.
ERUUF Mask Brigade Hits 10,000 Milestone
What started as a need to do SOMETHING among a few ERUUF friends turned into an undertaking no one could have imagined. Since March 16, the Mighty Mask Brigade has produced and donated over 10,000 masks.
ERUUF 30-Day Racial Equity Challenge
In July ERUUF’s White Awareness Group will offer a 30 Day Racial Equity Challenge as a learning space for white people who are committed to leaning into the work of dismantling racism and white supremacy. In this challenge participants will learn what it means to be anti-racist, how to identify and dismantle our biases, what it means to center people of color and be an effective ally, and will make plans to continue to lean into this ongoing work for racial justice.
